RV Routes and Reviews

As we start venturing out and utilizing different Campgrounds, we wanted to list and rate them, mostly for our own memories but also for anyone in the area who is looking for a place to stay and stumbles upon our site for a quick recommendation! Every stop on the road has a story. Some campgrounds wow us with mountain views, others win us over with friendly neighbors or the perfect shady spot. And of course, a few will teach us what not to do when booking a site. We’ve decided to start sharing those stories here—quick, honest reviews of the campgrounds we visit. Nothing fancy, just the things we’d tell a friend: how easy it was to park, what the vibe was like, whether the showers worked, and if the price matched the experience.

Flowing Lake Park & Campground

Date: 4/24 - 4/26/26
Location: Snohomish, WA
Membership Groups: N/A (Snohomish County Parks)
Hookups: Power (30), Water
Bathrooms/Showers: YES
Laundry: NO
Satellite/Cell Coverage: Good. Tree coverage is different at each site, but satellite will work and cell service is good.

Overall: Site #9 easily accommodated our 30-foot Class A with room to park our SUV, backing up to peaceful woods filled with mossy trees, ferns, and a gentle stream that added a calming soundtrack. The site’s location directly across from the restrooms and showers was convenient, with clean, well-stocked facilities—though unheated, making for a brisk experience on colder mornings. The campground itself features spacious, level gravel sites with picnic tables and fire rings, offering impressive privacy with over 100 feet between neighbors. A paved 0.8-mile loop provides an easy walk through the park, leading to Flowing Lake, where you’ll find a dock, boat launch, picnic areas, and a swim spot. Surrounded by dense forest and natural quiet—broken only by frogs at night and birds in the morning—the overall atmosphere is calm, secluded, and deeply restful.

Cap Sante Marina and RV Park

Date: 10/3 - 10/5/25
Location: Anacortes, WA
Membership Groups: N/A (Port of Anacortes)
Hookups: Power (30/50), Water, Sewer
Bathrooms/Showers: YES
Laundry: YES
Satellite/Cell Coverage: Excellent. Urban site which has perfect cell coverage and open skies for satellite.

Overall: Gorgeous location right alongside the Port of Anacortes Marina and near Rotary Park. The Anacortes Farmer’s Market is about 100 yards from the site and downtown is a 3 minute walk. The RV park is only a few years old and still looks brand new, with super clean bathroom/shower/laundry facilities. The hookups are all clean and close to the pad, with a picnic table and plenty of space for a vehicle in most stalls. An absolute must for urban campers who want water, woods, and city access all in one!

Kayak Point County Park

Date: 9/26 - 9/28/25
Location: Stanwood, WA
Membership Groups: N/A - Snohomish County Park
Hookups: Power (30/50), Water
Bathrooms/Showers: YES
Laundry: NO
Satellite/Cell Coverage: Not great. Cell coverage can range throughout the day, and satellite requires completely open sky which very few sites have.

Overall: Beautiful location but dated facilities on site. Campsites are all dirt, very uneven, and skinny one way road/driveways so larger rigs will have trouble on some sites. Proximity to the water is great and the County park is wonderful for families and children. Hookups were good although there was no sewer. Sites closer to the main road can definitely hear traffic throughout the day but its not too bad.

Bathrooms/Showers: YES
Laundry: YES + FREE!
Satellite/Cell Coverage: Awesome! Clear sky views throughout and good cell coverage. Site also has free wifi!

Overall: Incredible location on Whidbey Island, tucked into the back of the Naval Air Station. Beachside spots, lots of amenities for families, free laundry and clean bathrooms, Fleet store nearby, and lots of walking trails. All the benefits of being on a military base with gas station and car wash within 1/2 mile!

Tall Chief Campground

Date: 8/23/25
Location: Fall City, WA
Membership Groups: Thousand Trails, Passport America
Hookups: Power (30/50), Water
Bathrooms/Showers: YES
Satellite/Cell Coverage: Ok. Lots of tree coverage make for difficulty for satellites, but cell service is good!

Overall: Fun campground outside of Seattle. Gated, with 180 sites and lots of trees for great shade in the summer. Dated but clean bathrooms and quiet around the campsites. Water spigot was missing valve, so had to use pliers to turn on, and power was 30 amps with low voltage warning on surge protector. Otherwise, great stay and beautiful location!
